Separate projects from ongoing services
Define the pages, design rounds and tasks included in your website quote, along with what the client supplies. Invoice recognisable phases such as design approval or the agreed handover.
Agree a price for revisions beyond the original scope. A clearly described extra line makes that agreement identifiable.

Record the project price split in your quote. Each instalment counts as a separate invoice, even for the same website.
Invoice hosting and maintenance on a schedule
Use a recurring invoice schedule for a fixed monthly or annual fee. Describe the included maintenance and the relevant website. You need a plan with recurring invoices.
This automates billing, not delivery: installing updates, checking backups and renewing domains remain part of your workflow.
Are additional support hours included automatically?
A fixed schedule does not read tickets or timesheets. Invoice extra support from your own records and agreements, separately or after reviewing a draft. This keeps the fixed maintenance scope clear.
