This is a translation of the Dutch original. If the two differ, the Dutch text prevails.
factuurmaken is a service of the provider named above. This disclaimer is about the website and the app: what you may expect from them and what stays yours to check. For the agreements that apply when you buy something, read the terms and conditions. For what we do with your data, read the privacy statement.
What factuurmaken is for
factuurmaken is a tool. You fill in your details, the app works out the amounts and turns them into a PDF or an e-invoice. What is on your invoice is up to you: what you supply, to whom, for what amount and at which VAT rate.
Not tax, legal or accounting advice
Everything on this site is general information. It is not tax, legal or accounting advice and it is not tailored to your situation. We are not an accountant, not a tax adviser and not an auditor.
Unsure about a rate, a deduction, the small businesses scheme (KOR) or your return? Put it to your accountant or to the Dutch tax authority. The latter is authoritative, we are not.
VAT calculations and the requirements for an invoice
The app works with the Dutch rates 21%, 9% and 0%, and supports reverse-charge VAT and the small businesses scheme. VAT is calculated per rate over the summed subtotal and rounded afterwards, as is customary in the Netherlands. The mandatory invoice details from the Dutch VAT Act are put on your invoice as soon as you have filled them in.
What the app cannot do for you: decide which rate applies to your product or service, or which scheme applies in your case. That choice is yours, and so are its consequences.
Your invoices stay your responsibility
You are the sender of your invoices, not us. So you remain responsible for:
- the accuracy and completeness of what is on them, including amounts, rates and your client’s details
- a continuous, consecutive series of invoice numbers with no gaps
- actually sending your invoice and chasing your payments
- your own bookkeeping and your seven-year statutory retention obligation
What we keep is not an archive. That is explained under How long we keep data.
Availability of the service
We do our best to keep the service available, but we promise no uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, an outage at a supplier or a bug in our own software can make the service temporarily unusable. So do not count on being able to invoice at one specific moment if that moment is critical.
The knowledge base and the calculators
The articles in the knowledge base and tools such as the VAT calculator are there to explain something. Rules change, and an article can go out of date without us noticing straight away. When in doubt, check the source: the Dutch tax authority, the Chamber of Commerce, or your accountant.
A result from the VAT calculator is a calculation, not advice and not an approval of your invoice.
Links to other people’s websites
This site links to external websites, such as the Dutch tax authority and the Chamber of Commerce. What is on those websites is not ours, and we are not responsible for it.
Intellectual property
The website, the app, the texts, the design and the logo are ours or our licensors’. You may not copy, reproduce or rebuild them without permission.
The reverse holds too: what you enter stays yours. Your invoices, your client details and your logo do not become our property by putting them in the app. See article 12 of the terms and conditions.
Liability
Our liability is limited. The limits are in article 13 of the terms and conditions, and they apply to the use of this website as well. We do not repeat them here, so that two versions of the same agreement can never exist.
