How do I send an invoice with an iDEAL payment link?

An invoice your client can pay with one click gets paid sooner than one for which they first have to open their banking app, retype your IBAN and enter the invoice number as a reference. An iDEAL payment link removes those steps. Here is how to put one on your invoice.

What your client sees

The invoice e-mail carries a ‘Pay with iDEAL’ button. Your client clicks, picks their bank, confirms in their banking app and is done. The amount and the invoice number are already filled in, so nothing can go wrong with the reference. The same button sits in every payment reminder, so a client who missed the first e-mail still pays with one click.

What happens next

As soon as the payment lands, the invoice marks itself paid. You tick nothing off, and no further reminder goes out. The money goes straight to your payment account and is paid out to your bank account from there; factuurmaken never holds the money.

What it costs

There are two ways to switch the button on, and which you pick depends on whether you already have a payment account.

Through MultiSafepay, opened by factuurmaken. You fill in your company details and IBAN once, MultiSafepay verifies your business, and the button is on. You pay €0.29 per successful payment, the same in every plan; a failed payment costs nothing.

Through your own Mollie account. If you already have a Mollie account, for a web shop say, you connect it. Mollie then charges its own rate per transaction and additionally withholds €0.15 per payment for factuurmaken. Read more in which invoicing tool works with Mollie.

How to switch it on

1. Go to the payment settings and choose MultiSafepay or Mollie.
2. Fill in your details (MultiSafepay) or log in at Mollie and grant access.
3. Wait for approval; you get it by e-mail.
4. From then on the button sits automatically in every invoice e-mail and every reminder.

When to leave the button off

If you invoice almost only large companies that pay through their accounts-payable department, nobody uses the button and you pay nothing for it either. The button is for clients who pay themselves: consumers, small businesses and anyone who likes to settle an invoice straight away.
